Origins

The Oberheim DMX drum machine has left an indelible mark on popular music's soundscape, crafting the rhythmic foundation of timeless tracks across a spectrum of genres.

From the driving beats of New Order's "Blue Monday" and Madonna's "Holiday" to the foundational rhythms of Run-D.M.C.'s "It's Like That," the infectious Phil Collins’ “Sussudio”, the seminal Hip Hop/Electro jam Davy DMX’s “One For The Treble” or the uplifting grooves of Eurythmics1983 album, its influence is unmistakable. Even Daft Punk's "Discovery" album owes a nod to the DMX.

The Oberheim DMX by GForce brings you all of the original DMX sounds from its launch in 1981, as well as the updated DMX sounds introduced around 1983, the Oberheim DX and the Sequential Drumtraks ones plus many alternatives.

Presets are great starting points for producing a track. They give you access to preconfigured kits and associated FXs. You can browse through the presets using the up and down arrows or by opening the browser. It can be opened by clicking the ||\ icon.

See the Patch Browser and Saving Patches for more details.

The GForce DMX Core

The Oberheim DMX by GForce features eight tracks/channels with three sounds/pads in each (a total of 24 sounds):

In its default view, a Fader lets you control each track's gain. Individual Mute and Solo are also available per track. The lock icon allows you to lock each track so it isn’t modified when changing presets.

The Master fader controls the master level. To the right, Filter, Distortion and Compressor are master FX, routed in that order. At the top, the Delay and Reverb are send effects.
