Axxess VCO.png

VCO

Axxess has one Oscillator (VCO) and one Sub-Oscillator. The sub-oscillator tracks the main oscillator one octave below. The main oscillator has two waveforms: Saw and Pulse.

The amount of saw, square, and sub-oscillator is set in the Audio Mixer section.

Transpose Switch

This switch globally transposes the instrument up or down by up to two octaves.

<aside> ⚠️ If you use excessive Filter/Keyboard tracking via the yellow KYBD/S/H Slider, sounds played in either the lower or upper transposition may be considerably louder or quieter than the normal position. If this is the case simply adjust the KYBD/S/H Slider towards a 50% value.

VCO Pitch modulation Sliders

Frequency Modulation Slider - LFO Sine Source (Pink)

The pink LFO Sine slider governs the depth of pitch modulation introduced by Sine LFO. Altering the pink FM slider introduces a greater or lesser vibrato depth.

Frequency Modulation Slider - LFO Square Source (Pink)

The pink LFO Square slider governs the depth of pitch modulation introduced by the Square LFO. Moving the slider will modulate the VCO between the note played on the keyboard and a second note. Moving the slider will alter the pitch of the second note up to a maximum of one octave. Using this, it’s easy to create an effect similar to that of a trill. Use the LFO Freq slider (pink) to change the speed of the trill.

<aside> 💡 Holding Ctrl (PC) or Cmd (Mac) and dragging these pink sliders will select only semitone variations in pitch.

Frequency Modulation Slider - S/H Source(Yellow)

The yellow FM slider governs the depth of pitch modulation introduced by the Sample-and-Hold (S/H). The pitch of the VCO is modulated by the Sample-and-Hold.

You should hear a series of different random pitches, the speed of which is determined by the pink LFO Freq slider.

Frequency Modulation Slider - ADSR Source (Red)

The red FM slider governs the depth of pitch modulation introduced by the ADSR. The pitch of the VCO is modulated by the output of the ADSR.

This allows the ADSR envelope generator contour to modulate the pitch of VCO. The depth of this modulation is determined by the red slider.
