The Noise LFO is a random source that is derived the from the Noise Oscillator. It takes the Noise Oscillator’s output, pre-mixer, and passes it through a bitcrusher, then sample and hold and then smoothed to create a random modulation source. The selection of Noise Type will determine the dynamic content and character of the Noise LFO, with sources such as white noise producing a more uniform random value than sources such as Vinyl, which will provide occasional spikes in randomness.

Bitcrush

The Bitcrush parameter sets the bit depth of the incoming Noise with a range of 1bit to 16bits. The lower the bit depth the lower the resolution of random values that are generated.

S&H Rate

The S&H Rate parameter determines the rate at which the bitcrushed noise signal is sampled and held. It ranges from 0.02Hz to 60Hz when unsync’d and 16/1 to 1/512 when sync’d. At lower rates the Noise LFO will produce stepped modulation, at higher rates the modulation will be more erratic.

Slew Rate

The Slew Rate parameter sets the rate of smoothing that is applied to the noise source once it has passed through the S&H. It ranges from 0.02Hz to 60Hz when unsync’d and 16/1 to 1/512 when sync’d. At lower rates the Noise LFO with produce smoother modulation.

Sync Button

The Sync button enables or disables tempo sync for the S&H Rate and Slew Rate parameters. With Sync off these parameters operate in hertz increments. With Sync on these parameters operate in measures relative to the current tempo, sourced either from the footer Tempo parameter when using the standalone application or your host when using the plugin.

Retrigger Button

The Retrigger button determines whether the S&H function is reset upon each note on message. Enabling this allows for sync’d modulation every time a note is triggered.
