Mix

Sets the relative levels of operator 1 (green) and 2 (pink).

Mono / Poly Button

Sets the patch to either mono (single note) or poly (up to 8 notes).

This setting is not randomised by the global spark button.

Timbre Macro

Adjusts the perceived brightness of both operators. Turn right for sharper harsher tones, left for more muted ones.

EG 1 and 2 Macros

These two knobs adjust each operator’s envelopes. For snappier sounds turn left, for slower sounds, turn right.

Mod Macro

Turn this knob down to lower the preset’s overall modulation depth, to flatten it out, or up to increase it.

FX Macro

Increases or decreases Halogen FM’s built-in reverb effect’s parameters.

Macro Spark Buttons

Each of the 5 macro knobs on Halogen FM has its own Spark button underneath. These allow you to re-randomise only elements of the patch affected by its associated knob.

Like the timbre of your patch, but not the modulation? Click the mod one!

Freeze Icon

Enabling freeze will prevent the macro knobs from resetting on your next Spark. You can use this to guide Halogen FM into patches with defined characteristics.

Turn down timbre and freeze it. From then on Halogen FM will produce only more muted presets when using the Spark button.
