The A, B, and Both buttons on the layer screen dictate which layer is shown on the main panel for editing.
When in BOTH mode, layers are edited together but maintain the relative knob position differences. For instance if layer A has max cutoff, and layer B has its cutoff at 50%, reducing the cutoff of Layer A to half will reduce the layer B to minimum..
Solos the currently selected edit layer. This parameter is designed to help you focus during sound design, and is not saved with the patch.
Depending on which layer your are viewing the A>B or B>A button copies the currently viewed layer onto the other layer.
Independent pan controls for each layer.
Independent volume controls for each layer.

When modulating “Amp” with either velocity, aftertouch / pressure, this is the control that receives that modulation signal (not master volume!). When adding level using velocity or aftertouch, you’ll want to lower this knob appropriately.

Not to be confused with Layer Edit, Layer Mode selects which layer is played by the instrument and how.
Click to cycle through playing layer A, B, and both together. As represented by the lit LEDs on the button.
In this mode, the keyboard is divided into two sections by the Split Change Point. Keys lower than this point will play layer A, keys higher will play layer B.
