Keyboard Transpose LEDs

Illuminating these LEDs sets the SEM octave transposition. If you want a bass tone, click on the LED for -2 or -1 octave transposition. If you want a high lead tone, select +1 or +2. This parameter is also great when hooked up to an external controller via a MIDI CC to create real time octave jumps during a performance.

Mono/Legato Switch

Mono Mode

This mode is used when you want the Filter and Amplitude Envelopes to re-trigger for each note on.

Legato Mode

Legato means ‘tied together’ and Legato Mode is used when you do not want the Filter and Amplitude Envelopes to re-trigger when playing a note while another one is held. This mode, combined with the correct playing technique achieves a smooth, transition from note to note.

Assignment Control

Using the Note Assignment switch allows you to determine the priority of played notes, between Low Note, High Note and Latest Note. Use this in conjunction with the Mono or Legato keyboard controls.

Low Note

When more than one note is played on the SEM only the lowest note will sound. This is the same note priority as used on the original Minimoog.

High Note

When more than one note is played on the SEM only the highest note will sound. This is the same note priority as used on original Yamaha monophonic synths.

Latest Note

When more than one note is played on the SEM the last note played will take priority and sound. This is the same note priority as used on the original OSCar.
