Speeds up or slows down tape playback to increase or decrease the overall pitch of the instrument.
With original Mellotron and Chamberlin models, adventurous players would apply pressure to the flywheel slowing the tapes down to create effects ranging from subtle pitch fluctuations to extreme tape stops. When activated this button assigns the Brake effect to your mod wheel (CC1). This will supersede any CC1 assignment elsewhere in the instrument.
This implements a two-second rewind time for each key after it’s played and released. When activated, if the key is replayed during its rewind time, it will start at the appropriate point in the tape rewind, not from the start.
