Interface Resizing

M-Tron Select allows you to resize the interface by clicking and dragging on the bottom right hand corner of the interface window.

Patch Select Window

M-Tron Select opens with Patch 01 Flute as the selected sound. Patches can be selected by clicking in the Patch window and selecting from the list or scrolled using the PREV or NEXT buttons.

Sound A & B Windows

All M-Tron Select factory Patches have two layers. Each layer contains a tape-bank (a set of Mellotron tapes) and this can be the same tape-bank for each layer or different in each. The Sound A and B windows show the name of the tape-bank assigned to each layer. These cannot be changed within M-Tron Select.

The Balance Knob

This adjusts the relative balance between the two layers, A & B.

Reverse Switches

When activated, the layer tape-bank plays backwards from finish to start.

Pan Knobs

Allows the layer to be panned across the stereo field.

Tune knobs

Allows the layer to be fine tuned form – an Octave to + an Octave. For example, this is useful for detuning one layer against the other when the tape-banks are the same in each layer.

For coarse, quantised incremental pitch changes use right-click (or control click) to tune the layer from -12 to +12 in semi-tones. For example, this can be useful for setting a layer sound, let’s say, a 5th against the other layer.

Volume Knob

Sets the overall level or gain of the selected Patch.

Attack Knob

Determines the amplitude envelope Attack time of the selected Patch for both layers at once.

Moving the knob from the left to right increases the time the sound takes to ramp-in.
