VCO 1 (level) Knob

This knob controls the level of Oscillator 1 that is input into the filter. The level can be adjusted to the desired fine level from -INF dB (off) to +0dB (unity level) by increment of 0.01 dB.

VCO 1 OCT (level) Knob

This knob controls the level of the Oscillator 1 sub oscillator that is input into the filter. The level can be adjusted to the desired fine level from -INF dB (off) to +0dB (unity level) by increment of 0.01 dB.

VCO 2 (level) Knob

This knob controls the level of Oscillator 2 that is input into the filter. The level can be adjusted to the desired fine level from -INF dB (off) to +0dB (unity level) by increment of 0.01 dB.

VCO 2 OCT (level) Knob

This knob controls the level of the Oscillator 2 sub oscillator that is input into the filter. The level can be adjusted to the desired fine level from -INF dB (off) to +0dB (unity level) by increment of 0.01 dB.

Noise (level) Knob

This knob controls the noise level that is input into the filter. The level can be adjusted to the desired fine level from -INF dB (off) to +0dB (unity level) by increment of 0.01 dB.

Noise Colour Knob

This knob adjusts the noise color from 100% white noise when turned fully counterclockwise, to a 50-50 mix of white and pink noise at the center position, to 100% pink noise when turned fully clockwise.

VCA On

The VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) On switch on an Oberheim OB-1 synthesizer controls the behaviour of the amplifier in relation to the envelope generator. On the original hardware, switching this switch off would open the VCA, allowing the oscillators to run constantly. On our software recreation, we’ve opted to implement a simple on/off Gate instead. This means that with VCA On switched off, the VCA Envelope will be bypassed and instead each note press will open/close a Gate to allow the oscillators to run. When the VCA On switch is switched on, the VCA operates normally, allowing the envelope generator to control the amplitude of the sound based on the key presses.
