Gate

Sets the length of the note as a percentage of rate. For instance; with a rate of 1/4 and a gate of 50%, each note will be 1/8 long. From 10-100%.

Swing

Selects a swing value for the arpeggio, pushing every second note back in time. It ranges from 0% to 100% Swing.

Mode

Allows the user to select from six Arpeggiator modes as follows:

  1. Up: Where the Arpeggiator plays any held notes in an upward direction.
  2. Down: In this mode, the Arpeggiator plays any held notes in a downward direction
  3. Up Down: In this mode, the Arpeggiator plays any held notes in an upward direction and then a downward direction.
  4. Random: Arpeggiates any held notes in a random order.
  5. Assign: This orders the arpeggiated notes in the sequence you play them.

Pattern

Prophet~5’s arpeggiator has 25 preset patterns that it can follow. Right-click the pattern parameter to bring up a more detailed list that shows icons to demonstrate how the pattern works.

The total length of the pattern is represented by the number of visible circles. At the end of the pattern it will repeat. A filled circle will trigger a new note, an unfilled circle will cause the note that should be played there to be skipped.

Example - 🔴🔴⭕️

A three step pattern. If playing a three note chord, you’ll hear note 1, then 2, then skip the 3rd note. Then repeat. The 3rd note remains silent throughout.

3 Note Skip.wav

If playing 4 notes, you’ll hear 1, 2, skip 3, then 4, 1, skip 2, then 3, 4 before it repeats,

4 Note Skip.wav
